The MUba Eugène Leroy celebrates the Impressionist painters, relying on a close partnership with the Musée d'Orsay, the loan of more than sixty exceptional works, as well as a curated exhibition shared between the MUba and the Musée d'Orsay. This exhibition is organized as part of the operation "150 years of Impressionism with the Musée d'Orsay" set up by the Musée d'Orsay throughout the national territory on the occasion of the anniversary of the first Impressionist exhibition of 1874 and in addition to the exhibition that it is co-organizing with the National Gallery of Washington within its walls from March 26, 2024, " Paris 1874. Inventing Impressionism". The Tourquen event is one of the main exhibitions - in terms of the number and importance of loans - of this highlight organised in some thirty museums across France. The exhibition explores the theme of landscape, an artistic genre with a singular place for Impressionist artists. It includes about sixty works, mainly paintings.
Renowned artists of the movement will be presented, such as Claude Monet, Alfred Sisley, Camille Pissarro and Auguste Renoir.
