Louis Adrian, an officer in the supply of the Army, presented a helmet model that was inspired by the shape of older helmets. Its model was approved in 1915. It was distributed to all soldiers from the winter of 1915 and was designated by the name Adrian.
The Adrian helmet proved its worth and reduced the number of head injuries to the hairy (French soldiers). If not designed to stop a direct-run ball, its round shape and crest make it effective in deviating some of the projectiles contained in shrapnel shells, and bullets.
