Niki de Saint Phalle is fascinated by the formal repertoire of naive and spontaneous architecture close to raw art. She is also influenced by pre-Columbian sites where she discovers new symbols and myths that nourish syncretism and characterize her artistic vocabulary. The Tarot Garden in particular, a park of monumental sculptures inspired by the twenty-two major arcanas of the Tarot game.
