Queen Marie Antoinette is represented here in all her glory, adorned with her finest attire. A delicate ribbon, studded with precious stones, sumptuously crowns the head-dress of the sovereign. The complexity of the rendering is matched only by the delicacy of her bodice's lace and the richness of her garment's fabrics. A real tour de force, the model was executed by one of the most famous sculptors of the late 18th century, Louis Simon Boizot.
