To allow to explore the imaginary dimension of the maps, considered as visual constructions whose power makes it possible to emancipate oneself from the real, to model it, to reinterpret it, this is the ambition of this work. Unexplored lands, full of chimerical creatures; wonderful or mythical places with a strong symbolic charge; geography of literary and fictional worlds; finally, metaphorical, anthropomorphic or zoomorphic maps, and maps whose art has taken hold.

No less than 180 works of rare and precious heritage and contemporary creation take the viewer here on a journey that will lead him from medieval scrolls to video games.

Exhibition at the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF's Museum), Grande Galerie François-Mitterrand, from March 24 to July 19, 2026.
