FRENCH VERSION
The Musée du Louvre orchestrates an encounter between the works of two giants of sculpture that three centuries separate : Michelangelo (1475-1564), genius of the Italian Renaissance, and Auguste Rodin (1840-1917), precursor of modern sculpture. The special edition that accompanies this exhibition highlights the links between these two sculptors who have considerably marked the history of their art : nourished by the same models, classical antiquity and the link with nature, they have each worked to overcome them in their common quest to represent the human body. Thanks to the comparison of the chosen works of each master, this number highlights their desire to express, through the expressive power of anatomy, the relationship between psychic interiority and physical exteriority, between body and soul.
Exhibition at the Musée du Louvre from April 15 to July 20, 2026.
