To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the creation of the Musée des Arts de la mode in the Musée des Arts décoratifs, the exhibition highlights 40 iconic silhouettes, dresses that, through their creativity, have become works of art. These models are signed Madeleine Vionnet, Elsa Schiaparelli, Christian Dior, Azzedine Alaïa... Sublimated by fashion photography, magnified during a show conceived as an artistic performance, they are today part of the heritage of haute couture or luxury ready-to-wear. The exhibition invites you to discover as much the creative journey that has led to such achievements as the backstage of their conservation in museum : from the initial drawing to the canvas, from the samples of embroidery to the accessorization, from the choice of fabrics to the final fashion room, from the modeling to the restoration of the parts...
Beaux Arts Éditions presents these 40 iconic models, looks back on their history, highlights the gestures and know-how that give them life and questions the social role of fashion today. When fashion takes on the appearance of a living art.
