The Jacquemart-André Museum in Paris dedicates an exhibition to one of the major figures of the Venetian Renaissance, Jacopo Robusti, known as Le Tintoret (1518/19-1594), and his artistic heritage. Published on this occasion, this special series retraces the rise of this bold painter, who became one of the major artists of 16th-century Europe, thanks to the support of a vast workshop that allowed him to carry out large decorative cycles within the Serenissima. Portraits, mythological scenes and impressive compositions combining effects of perspective and light, he knew how to combine drawing like no other with color. From Delacroix to Dufy, this issue is also interested in the echo of his work in painting, but also literature, from the 19th century to the present day.
