Hokusai's complete work of Mount Fuji, comprising more than 148 prints.
Hokusai's work testifies to his near-obsession with a single motif: Mount Fuji. This mountain, an icon of Japanese art with spiritual value, is represented in different ways, notably with the famous color woodcut of The Great Wave , and the three volumes of One Hundred Views of Mount Fuji published shortly after.
The Complete Two Hundred and Six Views is divided into three parts: the first period (late 1970s to 1980s), the birth of a world masterpiece and the last years (from the end of 1830 to the year of the artist's death).
