WRITTEN IN FRENCH
This splendid edition, carefully edited, in Japanese binding and presented in a beautiful collector's box, brings together the prints of the Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji, one of the most famous series by the Japanese artist, probably the best known in the world, Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849). The work is presented here in its most complete version, which also includes the ten prints added later by the artist due to its great success.
Fuji is magnificently represented by the master thanks to the use of Western perspective and his very personal conception capable of combining the eternal dimension of the mountain with the earthly dimension represented by the many human activities.
Each print is accompanied by a technical sheet that helps in the interpretation of the image, with references - where possible - to the real place to which a particular view refers.
