Journey into crystal

The exhibition brings together artistic masterpieces from prehistory to contemporary art. They illustrate the attraction and mystery aroused by the transparency of quartz in all civilisations, and particularly in the Middle Ages. The chronological and thematic narratives suggest dreamlike and fantastical worlds, highlighting the many aspects of the aesthetic, scientific and spiritual power of rock crystal. The exhibition is curated by Isabelle Bardiès-Fronty, General Curator of Heritage at the Musée de Cluny - Musée national du Moyen Âge, and Stéphane Pennec, archaeologist, curator-restorer and President of AÏNU.
