In July 2025, as a cultural institution, the GrandPalaisRmn will join the Comité Colbert to promote the excellence of French know-how and the international influence of our country's art of living.

What is the Comité Colbert, founded in 1954 by Jean-Jacques Guerlain?

The Comité Colbert, founded in 1954 on the initiative of Jean-Jacques Guerlain, is an association under the law of 1901 that embodies the excellence of French luxury. When it was founded, fifteen pioneering houses united around a common vision: Baccarat, Cartier, Chaumet, Christian Dior, Christofle, Gelot, Guerlain, Hermès, Hôtel Le Bristol, Hôtel Carlton, Jansen, Lachaume, Paul Portes, Puiforcat and Rouard.

Named after Jean-Baptiste Colbert, the Superintendent of Arts and Manufactures under Louis XIV, the Comité Colbert's mission is to promote the French art of living around the world. The Comité Colbert works along three fundamental lines:

Who is the President of the Colbert Committee?

Laurent Boillot, Chairman of Hennessy, has been Chairman of the Colbert Committee since June 2022. Previously head of Guerlain fragrances, he has been a member of the association's Board of Directors since 2009, and headed the International Outreach Commission from 2017 to 2020. His appointment follows the presidency of Guillaume de Seynes, CEO of Hermès.
