Torso of Queen Nefertiti

RE000023
  • € 235
*Light-colored wood base

Reproduction patinated by hand on a black wooden base. Mold made from an imprint of the original work exhibited at the Louvre.

Identified as Nefertiti or a princess, this torso has an exaggerated swelling of the pelvis and thighs, characteristic of Amarnian iconography. Despite the shortcomings, it seems that the female character is in the position of walking, with the right arm raised in a sign of respect; attitude found in others sculptures of Nefertiti in particular.

Black marble base.

Amon, god of the city of Thebes
Did you know ?
The ancient Egyptians worshiped more than 1,400 different gods and goddesses. There is not a city or even a simple town that does not honor its god. The priests make him a demiurge by attributing to him the work of the great creative gods. The importance of a god depends on the size of the city he came from.
