A major figure in 20th-century art, Leonora Carrington (1917-2011) crossed borders, continents and artistic movements, leaving a work as abundant as it was elusive.

This first major exhibition in France dedicated to the artist reveals the visionary richness of his universe, through paintings, drawings, writings and documents. Between founding myths and intimate narratives, Carrington explores metamorphosis, the sacred feminine, magic, alchemy and ecology, developing an inner mapping nourished by spiritual traditions and legends. His work, traversed by childhood, memory and fantasy, summons dreamlike gardens and hybrid creatures.

Exhibition at the Musée du Luxembourg from 18 February to 19 July 2026
