FRENCH VERSION
Leonora Carrington (1917-2011) is a major figure in surrealism and a multi-faceted artist.
Born in England in 1917, she traveled through Europe, the United States and Mexico, where she established herself and became a leading figure in the art world. His work, steeped in mythology, esotericism and metamorphoses, reflects a deep inner quest. Her Map of the Human Animal presents an artist in harmony with the forces of life, fusing the feminine and the masculine, the human and the animal.
The Musée du Luxembourg presents the first major retrospective in France dedicated exclusively to his work, revealing the abundant and singular universe of a designer who has crossed continents and artistic currents with radical freedom.
