FRENCH VERSION
A pioneer in abstraction, Swedish painter Hilma af Klint (1862-1944) was celebrated for the first time in France in a major exhibition at the Grand Palais. The special series published on this occasion reveals the life of this artist to academic training but whose attraction for esotericism has considerably influenced her creative approach. Driven by a spiritualist approach, it realizes between 1906 and 1916 a monumental cycle of paintings, called the Temple, of which 160 will be presented at the Grand Palais.
This issue explores the symbolism of this psychic cycle and its sources, where decorative arts, folk tradition, esotericism and natural science mix.
Exhibition at the Grand Palais from May 6 to August 30, 2026.
