FRENCH VERSION
First retrospective devoted to Leonora Carrington (1917-2011), a major figure in surrealism. Born in England, the artist travels between Florence, London and Paris, where his meeting with Max Ernst in the 1930's marks his artistic beginnings. She then moved to Mexico, where she created a rich and proteiforme work. His dreamlike universe explores the freedom, metamorphosis and power of dreams, with symbolic images where food, bodies and animals hold a central place.
Beaux Arts Éditions highlights the role of Leonora Carrington in a history of feminine surrealism and shows how she depicts her pain, happiness, magic and the mystery of life in scenes full of eccentricity and fantastic depth.
